Inaugural Event: Regional Direct Care Workers Awards Ceremony

Certified Nursing Assistants, Personal Care Attendants; Medication Technicians; Hospice House Aides are eligible to be nominated.
- The Process: A small community committee convened to develop nomination packets and award criteria. The committee divided the 32 licensed facilities that operate in Region VIII, and task force members visited every facility in the region. The purpose of the visit was to encourage the facility administrator and/ or director of nursing to nominate one, or more, excellent direct care workers for the award. Nominated workers have to had demonstrated: compassion; provided dependable care and gone “above and beyond” the call of duty in providing hands -on direct care to their charges. Winners, and nominees, will be honored at a special reception, and award ceremony, in April.
